Have a close encounter with the friendly kangaroos at Pebbly Beach in Shoalhaven. Rated as one of the best experiences in the region on Tripadvisor, this experience is hard to beat.
Head to Pebbly Beach at sundown and you can expect to be joined by Roos coming out from the bushland near the beach just to eat grass by your side.
They’re unafraid and you can get some fantastic photographs with them. The best time to see them is early morning and dusk.
You’ll also encounter a range of colourful bird life at Pebbly beach, ranging from bushland natives to seabirds.
You can camp at Pebbly Beach – there are great amenities and it’s just a short walk to the beach. There is a parking fee of 7 dollars for the beach and camping fees are a bit more, but the money goes towards maintenance of the area.
Take a relaxing stroll along the pebbly beach and explore the walking tracks and rock pools, there are no golden sandy dunes like you’d expect in other parts of the NSW coast, but the real attraction of Pebbly Beach is the wildlife and animal encounters that make it well worth the trip.
Bring some stuff for a picnic, enjoy lunch then laze around and wait for the Kangaroos to come out at sunset. Don’t miss out!
